Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW60948)
(in network with BlueShield and private pay arrangement)
As a psychotherapist, I use a relational, psychodynamic approach in therapy. I am also integrating somatic body experiencing and spirituality. Somatic approaches help to locate, feel, explore your felt-sense and your metaphors which begin to locate your living questions: issues of identity, personal growth queries, such as "how do I thrive among others, how do I psychically injury myself, how do I exist, and how do I enliven myself?" All become temporal foci for our work toward cultivating your personal balance and healing.
"Clear and sweet is my soul, and clear and sweet is all that is not my soul." (a line from poem by Walt Whitman, Song of my Soul)
I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 25 yrs. My physical office is in town of Sonoma, CA. 95476. I am a trained clinician (licensed clinical social worker/LCSW) I graduated from McGill University, Montreal, Canada with a MSW in 1991. Since that time to the present– I participate in ongoing psychological, group dynamics and philosophical trainings to continue to develop both professionally and personally. (NCSPP psychoanalytic intensive study group 2025, ongoing psychodrama training at the Moreno Psychodrama Institute, modern analytic group therapy at AGPA, somatic approaches such as CRM (Comprehensive Resource Method) guided visualization, yin and restorative yoga and meditation.
I specialize in working with clients that initially may be looking for solutions to stressful circumstances or distressing affective states- where we concurrently work on self understanding via experiential learning toward change, sometimes mastery and always acceptance of our human conditions.
I work remotely and in-person, preferring in person. For remote clients I request in person meeting 1x/4-6 wks.
What are you experiencing?
Issues of mood, anxiety, panic, depression, dissociative states continuum.
Trauma sequela. Existential angst, feeling stuck, "know something is wrong", fear, intrusive thoughts, self medicating with substances, tech, other… feeling the need to review and do life differently than what is happening at the present. Anxiety, depression, relationships, panic, intrusive thoughts all can be addressed with care and our therapeutic work together, applied according to our unique needs.
My values are humanism, the power of relationship and experiential in-the-moment learning and the inter-relationship with embodiment.
I integrate a variety of modalities:
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Jungian psycho-spirituality, the work of Mike Eigen and the pragmatic Bionian interpretations he presents for meeting with each other, Moreno's psychodrama techniques for joining, feeling and growing via indv or group enactments.
Cognitive behaviorism, DBT, CBT are useful tools to teach and learn. Structural family therapy principles and Lois Ormont Modern Analytic Group Psychotherapy also inform my practice.
Anxiety, Depression, Trauma & PTSD, Relationship Issues, Substance Use, Spirituality, Mood Disorders, Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)
